Some people go to the same restaurant or café everyday for five years and the staff don’t take time to get to know them or even ask them their name. It is sad but true, remarkably in this age of constant communication, less and less people feel comfortable communicating. That is why the businesses that do but in the effort to remember and respect their customers are the ones that do the best. Customers appreciate knowing that the place they frequent cares about their business and will keep coming back because of it. But it is not always easy, with employees constantly switching and changes in management, no business stays the same forever. It’s sad but true so how can you keep track of your most loyal customers in this modern age?

There is nothing a customer hearing more upon entering a restaurant then “ Hey Stan, the usual?” It makes them feel like more than a check and tip, it makes them feel like part of the family, which they are. A business is nothing without its customers. The point of sale system can help with just this kind of thing. You have a record of purchases in POS and using that you can determine what exactly “the usual” is for your customer. In a gaming or computer store, you can tell if they’ve just bought a new game system, you can help them out without them having to tell you, or if they just bought a new computer from you, you can help them find accessories they don’t already have. It is this kind of personal attention that sets businesses apart from each other. Customers love and appreciate the attention and respect given to them and will come back to the businesses that exhibit this. However it is important that you never go too far with POS there is always the issue of privacy and the last thing you want to do is make your customer feel uncomfortable. But with POS even people with the worst memories can know their customers names and the customers will certainly appreciate that.
